When you are also registering your spouse/partner for the activity, remember to add 1 guest to the last box that says add guest. That way you will be registering for both of you. If you share the same email address, leave that field blank for the guest.
On November 21st, Newcomers & Neighbors of the Scottsdale Area will be sponsoring a Thanksgiving Holiday Luncheon at the Tumbleweed Youth Resource Center located in central Phoenix. To support this luncheon, we will need 12 volunteers and:
- · Thanksgiving decorations (e.g. tablecloths, balloons, flowers)
- · Paper goods (plates, cups, napkins, forks knives, spoons)
- · Pre-prepared food (e.g. dessert, salads, sandwiches (turkey, ham), fruit, cheese, chips/dips). There is also a limited number of electrical outlets that can be used for crockpots and/or hot plates.
When you register, please indicate if you will be bringing any of the listed needs.
If you are unable to participate in this event but would like to make a contribution to the luncheon, please contact Susan Ille to arrange drop off of your donation that she will then take to the event for you.
The mission of Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development is to provide a safe space for collaborating with youth and young adults in our community who are vulnerable or experiencing homelessness. These safe spaces will allow access to caring relationships, resources, and programs that offer opportunities for young people to develop their individual potential. Services provided by the center include trauma treatment, counseling, life skills development, continuing education and housing. In addition, they provide these basic support services:
· Safe environment during day hours, food, clothing, hygiene, laundry services, showers.
· Case management services
· Street outreach three nights a week throughout the east valley
· Housing services including scattered apartments
