Program: Newcomers welcomes members, their guests, and those interested in learning about the Club to our monthly luncheons. We have reserved the entire space at du Jour Restaurant, the fine dining room and student laboratory, for the Arizona Culinary Institute. ACI is a small, fully accredited culinary school established almost 14 years ago. They offer day and evening classes, between 10-13 students per class, with and approximately 85% of the experience hands-on. du Jour is open for lunch on weekdays, and dinner occasionally, throughout the year. Reservations are required.
Charity/Raffle: Our May charity is Foothills Food Bank and Resource Center (FFB). FFB provides emergency food, financial assistance, and other life necessities and resources to families and individuals. During the summer months, children that rely on school programs for one or two meals each day are served by FFB. During the school year, FFB provides nourishing Snack Pak’s so that young children will have food over the weekend. This will be the third summer that we’ve supported FFB. They will be our charity for May, June, July, and August. We’ll also be accepting donations of non-perishable food and/or cash at our BYOB lunches for those months. To learn more, visit www.foothillsfoodbank.com. Click on the "Wish List" tab to see which items are most needed.
Our April Charity, Treasurers 4 Teachers is a resource and supply store serving the educators of Arizona. Anyone who works closely with students can have access to a wide selection of materials, resources and training that will enhance and expand the learning process at low or no cost.
